TWA Hotel
Before making my way to JFK's Terminal 8, I had to pop into the new TWA Hotel - a re-imagination of Eero Saarinen's TWA Flight Center which opened in 1962 and closed in 2001.
Now a 505-room hotel with several restaurants and bars, the main terminal building is an architectural wonder...

After a careful renovatio, it maintains much of its original character, such as the slit flap schedule board.
The Lockheed Constellation below (one of four left in the world) has even been restored and turned into a cocktail lounge!
Checkin desks have been preserved and are used on the opposite side of this exhibit for hotel check-in.
And get a healthy dose of nostalgia when purchasing snacks and reading material.
On your way out, the hotel is just a short walk away from JetBlue's terminal 5.
